Recipe Webring
2025-01-04
A Few days ago I made a post floating the idea of a recipe-only webring. It got 18 boosts and 30 likes, and that is more than enough positive reinforcement for me to implement it.
so,
webrings... can be plain html/css with static hosting, not even a generator is needed
.
.
.
you know, when i started writing this post, i thought i'd have more technical problems to solve, but honestly, this is much more a matter of design, domain acquisition and moderation.
huh.
Well, for now, i need a name, a logo, a color scheme.
Hm, after some thinking, I realized that I should make adding one's site to the webring a much more assistance-friendly process. I'm not catering to engineers, I'm catering to cooks, people who may have much less experience when it comes to using version control systems/contributing to projects with git.
Good documentation is minimum. I'll also need to put contact details up because honestly people shouldn't need to learn to use git send-email
to add their cookbook to the list of cookbooks.
With that, I'd like to stick to pages.sr.ht for hosting, because i found sourcehut to be a really nice package to use overall.
would like to use this in the future though! https://forum.merveilles.town/thread/107/merveilles-community-hosting-24/
